Sylvia Kubsch, RN, PhD, has been teaching at UW-Green Bay since 1980. Prior to teaching, Dr. Kubsch worked as a critical care nurse at several institutions throughout the country. In Wisconsin, she taught at Bellin School of Nursing and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. She holds a BSN from California State University at Long Beach, a Masters in Nursing from the University of California - Los Angeles, and a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She frequently presents on topics such as pain control, communication techniques, and managed care, and has also written a number of articles that have appeared in journals such as Nursing Diagnosis. Dr. Kubsch holds professional membership in the American Holistic Nurses Association and Kappa Pi. She won the UW-Green Bay "Teaching at it's Best" award in 1999.
